Workshop D
Toxicity testing and regulation (by Prof. dr. Ken Donaldson and Prof. dr. Andrew Maynard)
Although nanomaterials are being debated for more then 4 years now with regard to toxicity testing, very few new tests have become available. In fact, current toxicology testing is using the classical tests for these new materials. The
workshop leaders will share up-to-date information on tox testing of nanomaterials, and how this can be used.

Elk voordeel heeft zijn nadeel? (by Dr. Flemming Cassee and Dr. Maaike van Zijverden, RIVM).
Workshop F
Communication is the key to make nanotechnology visible and acceptable
Schuttelaar en Partners
The use of nanotechnology is upcoming. While the health risks of its use are largely unknown, products with new nano-characteristics are already entering the market. Mainly without the consumers´ awareness. This seems to pose a risk for the societal implementation of nanotech products. Most consumers initially reject new technologies that might have an effect on their health, specifically if they already use the technology without knowing. And if one application of nanotechnology might pose health risks, in the eyes of the consumer all applications do. Communication might be the solution to a solid introduction of nanotechnology.
